A Boulder public servant of about 30 years is bowing out.
Jana Petersen, who has worked in various roles in the city and county since 1996, is leaving in August for a new role in California, the county announced in a Thursday news release. Her final day is Aug. 11 and she will assume a role as an executive in Santa Barbara County, California.
Petersen, now the Boulder County administrator, first worked as a public information officer with the county, and then worked with the city. Her time with the city included a stint as the deputy city manager. Petersen then returned to the county in 2005.
