SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sunday will start warm and humid in inland areas of the Suncoast, with temperatures holding near 78 degrees around sunrise. Skies should feature a mix of sun and clouds early, with cloud cover decreasing through mid-morning before increasing again toward midday.
The main weather story will be the potential for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms developing near the coast between about 9 AM and noon, then moving into areas east of the interstate early in the afternoon.
By late morning, temperatures will rise quickly through the 80s, reaching the upper 80s by noon and near 89 degrees by 2 PM.
