Good rain chance on Wednesday

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Today starts warm and humid, with morning temperatures in the mid-70s. Most areas will stay dry through the morning, although a brief shower near the coast can’t be ruled out. By afternoon, scattered thunderstorms will pop up, especially inland, with highs around 90 degrees and a heat index near 100.

Tonight and Wednesday will bring the wettest weather of the week as a cold front moves through the area. Showers and thunderstorms continue through much of Wednesday. A few storms could be strong, producing gusty winds and frequent lightning. Temperatures will be a little cooler, with highs in the upper 80s and nighttime lows dropping into the low 70s.

The front settles south of the area on Thursday, but a few showers and thunderstorms are still possible, especially across southern locations. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy at times, with highs in the upper 80s and a noticeable east breeze…
