County announces upcoming Animal Welfare Center Opening and Gateway Greenway Trail Groundbreaking

Manatee County Government will host county officials and community members at two public events scheduled next week, one related to animal welfare services and the other related to a future countywide trail system.

On June 17, county officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Animal Welfare Resource Center at 401 17th Ave. W. in Bradenton. The facility will serve as the home of the CARE Program (Community Animal Resource & Enhancement), a new initiative intended to expand access to veterinary services for underserved residents and animal populations throughout Manatee County.

According to county information, the CARE Program will provide spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and basic wellness services to qualifying residents, rescue organizations, and high-need animal populations.
