SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Sarasota County officials are warning residents after underground electrical wire was repeatedly cut and stolen from county roadway lighting systems.
County officials said the thefts are believed to be tied to people looking for copper wire. When the wires are cut, roadway lights stop working and roads go dark.
