SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A weather pattern change will bring afternoon and evening thunderstorms back to southwest Florida through the weekend, according to the First Alert Weather forecast for Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Wednesday: Storms develop by afternoon
Wednesday morning will feature partly cloudy skies with plenty of sunshine. As the day progresses, rain chances will increase during the afternoon and evening as winds shift east-southeast.
A sea breeze developing near the coast will help trigger storm development. Expect ample cloud coverage with light and variable winds early in the day, becoming southeasterly by afternoon. Outflow boundaries from storms developing inland will push convection back toward the coast during the evening hours.
Highs will reach the upper 80s to low 90s.
Thursday through Sunday: Unsettled pattern continues
Expect slightly more storm activity Thursday, with a 70% chance of rain. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue through the weekend, with activity tapering slightly on Sunday…
