SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Flock cameras and automated license plate readers (ALPRs) are becoming an increasingly common tool for law enforcement across the Suncoast. However, as police rely more heavily on this 24-hour surveillance technology, some of the devices are becoming targets of crime themselves.
Two local law enforcement agencies—the North Port Police Department and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office—confirmed they have received reports of their Flock cameras and license plate readers being damaged or vandalized.
