First day of school brings traffic congestion to Sarasota roads

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The first day of school for most Suncoast-area districts wrapped up Monday, sending thousands of students and parents onto local roads and creating significant traffic congestion.

Parents who spoke with reporters near Southside Elementary said the intersection of U.S. 41 and Weber Street was among the worst spots for school-related traffic.
