In the wake of more than 50 sea turtle hatchlings dying on neighboring Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key has reviewed and corrected some public lighting to hopefully help avoid hatchling confusion.
Volunteers with the Longboat Key Turtle Watch commended employees from the town of Longboat Key Public Works Department for swiftly addressing lighting issues on Gulfside Road last week.
