More thunder and lightning during today’s First Alert Weather Day.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Its another First Alert Weather Day for the Suncoast. Today we are in for another warm, humid and, later in the day, stormy weather, with numerous showers and thunderstorms developing across both coastal and inland areas. Highs will reach around 90, and some storms could produce heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds. Localized street flooding will be possible where the heaviest rain falls.

The unsettled pattern continues Friday through Tuesday, but the timing of the storms will gradually change. Friday will still favor afternoon and evening storms. By the weekend, a southwest wind will bring some showers and storms toward the coast during the morning before activity shifts farther inland during the afternoon. Highs will generally stay in the upper 80s to around 90.

For boaters, winds will remain light at around 10 mph or less, with Gulf seas generally 2 feet or less. Winds turn more southerly and southwesterly Friday and into the weekend.
