SARASOTA, Fla. — A 39-year-old man is hospitalized in critical condition and facing multiple attempted murder charges after a confrontation with Sarasota County sheriff’s deputies early Sunday morning.
The incident began at 12:19 a.m. with a shooting in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at Bee Ridge Road and Cattlemen Road. No injuries were reported at the restaurant, but the shooter fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
Deputies later determined the suspect, identified as Casey King, had returned to his home at 4818 Hoyer Drive. Patrol units responded to the address and set up positions around the house.
