Riverview High School friends catch huge goliath grouper off Turtle Beach, proud dad says

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (SNN-TV) — Some area high school students have a big fish story to tell.

According to proud dad Stuart Francis, his son Isaac and his friends caught a goliath grouper while fishing off Turtle Beach on Saturday night.

Isaac, a sophomore at Riverview High School, estimated the fish to weigh 250 lbs.

However big it was, the fish was released and swam off strong according to the boys.

His dad said Isaac calls his catch “lucky,” but as Branch Rickey, the former Brooklyn Dodgers’ famed GM once said, luck is the residue of design.
