BRADENTON – Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) is awash in stray pets in the wake of Hurricane Debby. Since August 1, 2024, a total of 129 stray animals have been brought into the Manatee County Animal Welfare facilities. To expedite and streamline the reunification process, the shelter is currently waiving all fees associated with reclaims and adoptions. Staff is also extending stray holds for a few of the flood-affected areas.
