Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase, Crash Into Tennis Court Fence

Bradenton, FL – A man is facing charges after a high-speed chase and crash in Holmes Beach following a domestic battery incident and stolen vehicle theft.

According to authorities, 24-year-old Dominic Garcia was involved in a domestic battery incident in Bradenton on Wednesday where he allegedly assaulted a 65-year-old woman.

Following the assault, Garcia stole a black Ford Expedition from the scene.

Holmes Beach police became involved around 6 a.m. when the stolen vehicle was spotted fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crash.

Sgt. Brett Getman of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle on the island and initiated a pursuit.

The chase reached speeds of 80 miles per hour in a 15-mile-an-hour zone, according to initial reports.

The pursuit came to a dramatic end when Garcia lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence near the Martinique condos, becoming trapped.

Garcia was arrested at the scene and is facing charges including theft, domestic battery, fleeing from law enforcement, and driving under the influence.
