Gas prices in Florida are on the move. See how much more you’re paying this week

After several weeks of decreasing gas prices, we’re paying slightly more at the pump this week.

Prices across the state increased a penny a gallon as of Tuesday, according to AAA.

Prices in the Miami area increased 1 1/2 cents a gallon — that’s still about 17 cents a gallon less than a month ago and 39 cents cheaper than a year ago, according to GasBuddy. The Bradenton-Sarasota areas is up 3 cents a gallon from last week, AAA says.

But national gas prices dipped slightly.

“As long as we don’t see a major hurricane head into the Gulf and the situation improves in the Middle East, the national average could fall below $3 in the next two months,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

North Florida remains the cheapest region to get gas in the state, in some places about 25 cents less per gallon than South Florida and less than $3 a gallon. Palm Beach County is among the most expensive areas for gas.
