MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The search is on for a 69-year-old man who went missing under “suspicious circumstances” last week after he made a delivery for work and hasn’t been heard from since.

William Golden, 69, vanished on Aug. 20 after he used his employer’s truck to make a delivery from Sarasota to 1112 Manatee Avenue E in Bradenton, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Golden’s employer reported him missing nine days later on Aug. 29.

While searching for the man, detectives discovered that Golden’s truck had been found abandoned on I-75 in Manatee County on Aug. 21, just a day after he went missing.

Deputies have not been able to reach Golden by his phone, according to the sheriff’s office.

The 69-year-old is considered an endangered adult. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011.
