Florida Family Brings 31-Year-Old Horse Into Their House During Hurricane Milton To Keep It Safe

Keeping their beloved horse safe during the horrific hurricane. While some might think this is crazy, think about what you would do to keep your pet safe before casting a judgment. I would 100% do something like this to keep my horse safe during a hurricane. And yes, I am very self-aware that statement is screaming “horse girl,” but sometimes you have to own who you are and move on. Hurricane Milton hit land in Florida last night, and the storm wasn’t quite as bad as meteorologists predicted, but nevertheless, it was another devastating hurricane hitting an already storm-ravaged part of Florida. The Category 3 hurricane has reportedly killed at least four people and left three million residents without power. As many residents took government officials’ advice and evacuated the city, some decided to stay and anchor down during the storm with family and pets. Before the storm hit, horse and other livestock owners were sharing heartbreaking videos of

marking their horses

with phone numbers or braiding AirTags into their manes before evacuating the town (which is the recommendation during natural disasters and the animal’s best chance of survival). But for the people who could not bring themselves to leave their animals or chose not to evacuate, they are making sure their pets are living in luxury to keep them as calm as possible during the horrific storm. One social media user is going viral by showing off the set-up they made inside their home for their elderly horse.
