Florida toddler dies in hot car after ‘father forgot to drop child off’ at day care

A baby died in Florida after he was allegedly left in a car all day by his forgetful father .

A man went to the Bayfront Child Development Center in St. Petersburg to pick up his child on Wednesday. But when he spoke to the staff, they told him that his 1-year-old boy had not attended that day, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

“So at that point, then the father kind of realized what was going on and went back out to the car,” SPPD spokesperson Yolanda Fernandez told Fox 13 . When he returned to his car he found his son unresponsive . Emergency responders tried to perform CPR on the little boy but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
