Recent inspections by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation have revealed several notable general health and food safety practices in restaurants in Pinellas County, FL.
State records revealed that over the past 30 days, inspectors visited 400 establishments across the county, which is home to an estimated 961,596 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau’s 2023 data.
The results paint a mixed picture of compliance. While 289 restaurants passed their initial inspections, 111 failed to meet standards on the first visit. This information is important for the county’s local residents and visitors who frequently dine out.
Highlighted Restaurants With Most Violations in Pinellas County
Topping the list of violations was Hennessy’s Tavern, cited for 44 violations during a November 5, 2024 inspection. Notable, though, despite the high number of infractions, including nine high-priority violations, this local hangout bar and grill hangout spot ultimately met inspection standards and was allowed to continue operating as usual.
