Christmas sparkles in triple time at WBTT

SARASOTA — It just keeps getting better.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe’s production of “Motown Christmas” is worth your time — even if you’ve seen it before.

Created and adapted by WBTT founder and artistic director Nate Jacobs some years ago, “A Motown Christmas” seems all new again this year.

Many fans of theater in Sarasota County know about the talent trained by Jacobs since the company’s founding in 1999, but this year, it is time for everyone else to see for themselves.

Who knew there were that many sequins in the world? Somehow, all those sequins and all that glittery fabric has even more sparkle this year.

But then, that is the story of this theater company and the path it has taken from borrowed and rented space in various locations to the wonderful theater it has today.

All those sequins simply add to the sparkle this company has earned in a quarter century

With the most comfortable seats of any theater in the area and the depth of talent on stage, it is worth the drive to 1012 North Orange Ave. to see this colorful holiday show.
