Ice supplier catches fire in Bradenton, crews say

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — An ice supplier in Bradenton caught fire on Tuesday, resulting in over $15,000 in damage, according to the Bradenton Fire Department.

At 4:51 p.m., fire crews responded to another incident when they learned of a fire at Manatee/Metro Ice, an ice supplier located in the 800 block of 8th Avenue Drive West.

Five units responded to the fire, with black smoke and flames coming out of the building.

Crews found an air conditioning unit and industrial ice makers on a loading dock on fire, as well as flames going through the roof.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a mechanical failure with the air conditioning unit.

No injuries were reported. BFD estimated the damages to be around $15,000.
