Rebuilding process after hurricanes set to become simpler

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – It’s been a busy few months of cleanup for hundreds of people on Anna Maria Island whose homes were completely destroyed by last year’s hurricanes.

“We’ve removed the drywall, we’ve removed the floors, and obviously everything that’s been in it is gone. Everything was dragged out on the curb,” said Bradenton Beach resident Jolanta Grys.

Now with the bulk of the initial dirty work behind them, homeowners like Grys are trying to figure out the best way to rebuild and fortify their homes…
