Road Rage Incident in Ruskin Ends in Arrest After Flare Gun Fired

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m., a road rage incident at the intersection of South US Highway 41 and West College Avenue in Ruskin resulted in the arrest of one driver after a confrontation escalated into violence.

According to authorities, 47-year-old Leonard Cako, the driver of a white van, exited his vehicle at a red light and approached the victim’s car with an aluminum baseball bat. Cako allegedly reached into the victim’s vehicle, striking and grabbing him. In response, the victim fired a flare gun, hitting Cako, who then began striking the vehicle with the bat.
