SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A weak cold front will move into the area today. Moisture and upper-level support will be lacking to produce a significant rain chance with this front. The major impact will be increasing clouds and a breezy wind. In fact, winds could gust up to 30 mph overnight. In advance of the front, the winds will shift to the southwest, and humidity will rise. However, the window to increase moisture to levels sufficient to support showers will be limited.
Tonight, the front will clear the state, and winds will shift to the north. As a result, the slightly higher dew points of today will begin to fall rapidly. By late Friday, dew points will drop from the 60s today to the upper 30s. Additionally, the winds will remain breezy to start the day.
The cooler air, brought in by the breezy winds, will also cause air temperatures to drop. Highs on Friday will reach 70, about 10 degrees cooler than today. Temperatures will climb again into the 80s over the weekend…
