SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A deep trough of low pressure will develop in the jet stream and center itself over the eastern United States coastline. The surface reflection of this upper air feature will be a cold front which will sink south. There is a possibility that this front could produce larger hail and gusty winds in severe thunderstorms. But that risk will remain in north Florida. By the time the front moves into our area late tonight, we will be lucky to get a shower or two.
Winds will pick up behind the front and a breezy wind Saturday could impact any activity involving the wind/water connection; such as boating, swimming, kite surfing, and fishing. The wind will also push in some much drier air over the course of the weekend.
The dry air will help lower the night time air temperatures. Early Sunday and Monday mornings will see temperatures in the upper 50s. Daytime highs on Saturday and Sunday will stay in the mid to upper 70s. We will warm back into the 80s starting Monday…
