More storms for Monday morning

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – An area of low pressure over Louisiana continues to pump up tropical moisture into our area. This moisture along with the proximity of this low pressure will bring showers and a few thunderstorms throughout Monday morning tapering off by mid afternoon as the line of storms moves inland.

We are calling for a low end First Alert Weather Day on Monday due to the possibility of some heavy rain at times. We can expect to see an additional 1-2 inches or rain across most of the area with some isolated amounts up to 4″ if we see some training take place. Training is defined as many storms moving over the same area for an extended period of time.

We have a slight chance for some flash flooding on Monday due to this storm system. The chance of getting some flooding is 15-30% for our area.

Some drier air will start to move in later in the day on Monday bringing an end to the rain and clearing skies out for our area on Tuesday…
