Residents of Manatee County can breathe a little easier as the county officials declared the expiration of the burn ban in a statement issued on Tuesday. In an update provided by the Manatee County Emergency Management Division, the burn ban, set in place due to concerning dry conditions, will be lifted as of 11:59 PM on Tuesday, June 3. The ban’s cessation is attributed to the recent rainfall and improved humidity levels that have played a significant role in reducing the region’s wildfire risks.
While the skies opened up and graced the region with much-needed downpours, Manatee County Commission Chair George Kruse emphasized the positive trend, stating, “We’ve seen a positive shift in weather patterns, and conditions are trending in the right direction,” in a statement reported by Manatee County’s news release.
