A man fled on foot early Friday after crashing into a pond during a police chase that began in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the pursuit started around 2:17 a.m. when FHP and Manatee County deputies responded to an incident in southern Manatee. The driver headed north into Hillsborough County, exited Interstate 75 near Exit 250 in the Riverview area, crashed into a pond and ran from the scene.
