Amilia Burton Honored as Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Month for Work on Fingerprint System Overhaul

It’s all in a day’s work and then some for Amilia Burton, an administrative assistant who has been named the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Employee of the Month for August 2025. Burton’s exemplary efforts over the last two years have not gone unnoticed, particularly her work on the MCSO Fingerprint Unit’s transition to the JusticeTrax Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

A complex project that entailed starting from scratch on many processes, Burton’s role was vital in developing, optimizing, and refining the new fingerprint management system. A significant, and clearly labor-intensive component of her work involved dual entry of fingerprint evidence into both the old system and the new one, a process that reportedly took nearly a year.
