Manatee County School Board finalizes $245K contract with new Superintendent Laurie Breslin

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) — The Manatee County School Board has finalized Dr. Laurie Breslin as the new superintendent of schools.

Breslin signed a three-year contract on Tuesday, Sept. 9, cementing her role as the district’s chief executive officer with an annual salary of $245,000. The agreement is in effect through June 30, 2028.

Her journey began in Manatee classrooms. Breslin began her career at Southeast High School and Manatee High School before transitioning into leadership roles, including principal, assistant principal, and curriculum director, in both Manatee and Sarasota counties. Most recently, she served as executive director of Student Support and Family Engagement for the district.
