The Calusa Country Club at Lakewood Ranch in Florida is opening a new 12-hole golf course this winter, adding onto its existing 18-hole championship course.
The “social” golf course will provide a quicker alternative to the 18-hole course that opened in February. The goal of the course is to provide golf accessibility for all ages.
Designed by Gordon Lewis, the 12-hole course will allow play to a par of 48, with over 4,800 yards of play, according to the press release. The course features a mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s, including:
- Hole 1 – Short par 4 playing from 251 yards to 354 yards
- Hole 2 – Long par 5 playing from 412 yards to 549 yards
- Hole 3 – Par 3 playing from 97 yards to 212 yards
- Hole 4 – Par 5 playing from 393 yards to 497 yards
- Hole 5 – Short par 4 playing from 255 yards to 350 yards
- Hole 6 – Par 4 playing from 305 yards to 385
- Hole 7 – Par 4 playing from 220 yards to 400 yards
- Hole 8 – Par 3 playing from 84 yards to 117 yards
- Hole 9 – Par 4 playing from 276 yards to 409 yards
- Hole 10 – Par 5 playing from 365 yards to 505 yards
- Hole 11 – Par 3 playing from 109 yards to 187 yards

Lewis said the 12-hole course has two of his “favorite holes of all time.”…
