Top Bealls exec announces retirement

Longtime Bealls executive Dan Doyle is retiring this week, after 35 years with the Bradenton retailer.

Doyle’s last day with the organization is scheduled for Oct. 17, according to a statement. He will remain an active member of the board of the R.M. Beall Sr. Charitable Foundation after retiring, the company says.

Doyle joined Bealls Inc. in 1990 as Director of Loss Prevention, where he built the company’s first professional loss prevention department from the ground up. He was promoted multiple times, though being named executive vice president and chief people officer in 2022. Under his direction, Bealls, the release states, “maintained industry-leading shrink results and established a strong culture of ethics, integrity and associate development.”

Before joining Bealls, Doyle worked in retail at Marshall Field’s in Chicago, Lord & Taylor in Houston and Lloyd M. Barber & Associates, where he began his career as a private investigator…
