SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The murder trial of Dima Tower began this morning in Sarasota County court, more than a year after he was charged with killing his adoptive parents in North Port.
Opening statements started at 9 a.m. in the long-anticipated trial. Tower is accused of one of the most violent murders on the Suncoast.
Prosecutors told the jury Tower contemplated the killings multiple times before attacking his parents in August 2023. During the attack, prosecutors said Tower dragged his mother back from a neighbor’s front door and stabbed her 38 times in the neck…
