ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — On October 9, 2024, the roof of Tropicana Field was ripped to shreds. Now, months later, the roof panels have been replaced, and work is going on inside to repair wind and water damage.
“The roof is back on, they are still doing some of the seaming and the final sealing, but in essence, the building is dried in,” said Beth Herendeen, the Managing Director of City Development for St. Petersburg. “The stadium bowl air conditioning has been turned back on, reactivated, so all of the areas are now conditioned. We’ve got people in here doing drywall, we’ve got people working on painting the seats, the stadium lights are working.”
