ANNA MARIA ISLAND, Fla. (WWSB) – A decade-long tradition on Anna Maria Island has once again been put on pause. The Privateers’ Island Christmas Parade scheduled for this Saturday has been canceled.
“It’s very upsetting because this is our way of giving back to the community,” said Anna Maria Island Privateers President Kelly Sparkman.
Last year, the parade was canceled because of storm damage. This year, organizers said they only received less than 10 participants’ applications, which is not enough to make up a parade that spans nearly 5 miles from Coquina Beach to the City of Holmes Beach…
