Woman charged with scamming elderly victim of more than $60,000

VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – A Nokomis woman has been arrested, accused of spending more than $60,000 from another woman’s bank account over the past four years, using money for car rentals and hotel stays, Venice police say.

Tiffany Lynn Blair, 31, faces several charges, including theft of $50,000 or more from a person 65 years of age or older, improper use of an ID without consent, and exploitation of an elderly person.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim, who lived in Venice, opened a Wells Fargo checking account in 2021 to deposit Social Security benefits and occasional cash. The victim never requested a debit card to be issued for this account, police say…
