SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three people are charged with dozens of offenses connected to poaching alligators in multiple Tampa Bay counties, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Connor Wiegland, 21, Reagan Weidner, 18, and an unnamed minor were arrested on Friday and charged with 69 felonies and 23 misdemeanors.
FWC began investigating the case in 2024 after receiving a tip about the illegal possession, harassment and take of alligators in Sarasota County. The report pointed to social media accounts containing evidence of “numerous fish and wildlife violations,” FWC said…
