Sarasota raid nets additional felony arrests

The Sarasota Police Department recently arrested three people on multiple charges ranging from illegal weapons to sexual assault of a minor. On Jan. 8, the SPD’s SWAT, Community Action Team and Strategic Investigations Unit executed a search and arrest warrant at a home at 1579 28th St.

The warrants were completed in conjunction with Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as part of an ongoing investigation of 20-year-old Justus Mills, who was wanted in Hillsborough County on charges that include possession and sale of Glock switches, an accessory capable of converting a conventional gun into a fully automatic weapon.

Mills was arrested and charged with five felony counts including three counts of possession and sale of bump stocks and unlawful use of two-way communications…
