Sarasota police seize more than 400 grams of cocaine in search warrant

SARASOTA, Fla. — The Sarasota Police Department SWAT and Strategic Investigations Unit executed a narcotics search warrant on Friday, Jan. 16, that led to an arrest and more than 400 grams of cocaine seized.

Detectives received a tip through the Crime Stoppers of Sarasota Hotline, which initiated their investigation. During the search, detectives say they found approximately $12,000 cash in small denominations, 476 grams of cocaine in both rock and powder form, and digital scales that tested positive for cocaine residue.

Police arrested 65-year-old Lazaro Gomez and charged him with cocaine trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Sarasota County Jail…
