A Sarasota man accused of fatally shooting his ex-partner is expected to stand trial more than four years after a body was found at the Hyatt Place hotel.
Brennan Wakey, 29, was arrested in Charlotte County a day after Sarasota police were called to the hotel on University Parkway after a housekeeper found 24-year-old Colton Wright lying on the floor of room 319 with a gunshot wound.
Wakey is charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Court records indicate a third charge, possession of methamphetamines, was added on Jan. 22…
