TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay area witnessed an unlikely event over the weekend, when multiple parts of the region saw snow flurries and ice.
Flurries were spotted by 10 Tampa Bay News viewers in Largo, Ruskin, Sarasota, Sebring and Tampa as temperatures dropped into the 20s and 30s overnight Saturday.
Before this weekend, the last time the Tampa Bay area saw snow flurries was Jan. 9, 2010, when sleet and a few snowflakes were reported but did not accumulate. Before that, the Tampa Bay area hadn’t seen flurries since Dec. 23, 1989…
