SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Suncoast poodle is leading the America’s Favorite Pet contest, a national competition that could provide life-saving medical funding for the dog.
The contest, organized annually by former New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg and actress Jenny McCarthy, offers $10,000 and a magazine feature to the winning pet.
Remy, the local poodle currently in the top spot, was diagnosed with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) at age 5. The heart condition requires expensive cardiologist care that the owner cannot afford and medication twice daily…
