SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred inside a home in the Amberlea gated community that killed multiple people.
Photos, video released of potential subject in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance
Public Information Officer for SCSO, Matt Binkley, told reporters at the scene that no survivors were found inside the home. He was not able to say exactly how many victims there were.
He said none of the victims have been identified at this time, and a weapon was recovered from the scene. There is no ongoing threat to the public.

There is a large law enforcement presence in the area of Proctor Road and McIntosh Road. Residents are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
