Saks Fifth Avenue inside The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota is closing amidst a string of Saks Global closures after the company filed for bankruptcy in January. The 80,000-square-foot location is one of the shopping center’s anchor stores alongside Macy’s and Dillard’s.
In a March 6 news release, the luxury retailer said it was closing 12 Saks Fifth Avenue stores and three Neiman Marcus locations across 13 states. The closings come on the heels of an announcement in February that nine stores would close around the country.
