SARASOTA, Fla. — Bella, a 10-foot-2 great white shark, seems to be calling Florida home these past few weeks.
The shark advocacy group OCEARCH is keeping tabs on the shark, with its last ping reported Monday afternoon off the coast of Sarasota.
At 729 pounds, Bella was tagged and released in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia on July 18, 2025. Since then, she has traveled down the coast of the eastern U.S. and around the Florida peninsula, recently moving west through the Straits of Florida and northwest of Key West…
