VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) — The Venice South Jetty — once a gathering place for fishermen, sunset watchers, and residents seeking a quiet escape — is now fenced off and destroyed following back-to-back hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The site is currently off-limits to the public, and a full reconstruction timeline has not been confirmed. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is writing a major maintenance report, expected in November 2026, that will set the final cost of repairs.
