BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – The unlicensed contractor accused of scamming more than a dozen elderly residents out of hundreds of thousands of dollars under the promise of repairing Hurricane Milton damage was back in court Thursday morning.
Brian Michaud’s attorneys did not argue the merits of the case. Before his matter was called, prosecutors and defense attorneys agreed to continue the hearing. A judge noted the parties had stipulated to moving the case to July 23.
Michaud, who is out on bond and has pleaded not guilty, is awaiting a jury trial. Several alleged victims were on standby speaking with the prosecuting attorneys near the courtroom as well…
