Witness Venice Theatre’s rise from Hurricane Ian

VENICE — In an unusual twist, Venice Theatre is hosting a Silver Foxes production in which the play is about the theater itself.

This year, as the Hurricane Ian-caused damage to the William H. Jervey Jr. mainstage is growing closer to being fully restored, the Silver Foxes celebrated. And they did so with a production that is about Venice Theatre’s rise since much of its building was destroyed during Ian.

The Silver Foxes annual production, “Together We Rise: A Retrospective,” is a full-blown production that tells the story of the anguish and sorrow and even depression on the morning after the hurricane and the hopes and dreams and worries that followed…
