Crackdown on Unlicensed Gambling in Sarasota County
Authorities in Sarasota County have taken action against an illegal gambling operation, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of numerous slot machines. This enforcement followed a recent bust of a separate unauthorized gaming venue in the area.
Collaborative Raid on Spin 24/7 Illegal Gaming Den
A coordinated effort involving the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Intelligence Unit, Tactical Unit, Special Investigations Section, Patrol Bureau, and the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) led to the shutdown of an illegal gambling site known as Spin 24/7. The operation was the result of months-long investigations and was executed under a search warrant specifically targeting this unlicensed gaming establishment.
During the raid, authorities seized 66 slot machines along with an undisclosed sum of cash. Two suspects connected to the illegal operation were taken into custody.
Details of the Arrests
The two individuals arrested are Mohammed Belyaqout, detained at the gambling site on March 26, and Mabielka C. Cumbrera, who was apprehended at her home the following day. Both suspects were booked into the Sarasota County Correctional Facility.
