Items to be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2 locations
On Saturday, April 25, the Sarasota Police Department will partner with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Caring Collective in Sarasota as it takes part in the 30th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the agency has announced.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations in the city of Sarasota, a news release says: the Police Department headquarters, which stands at 2099 Adams Lane in downtown Sarasota; and the Caring Collective, which stands at 1750 17th St.
Twice a year, the DEA partners with local law enforcement agencies and community groups to host National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, “providing the public with a safe and anonymous way to dispose of expired and unused prescription medications,” the release explains. “Proper disposal helps prevent prescription drug misuse and rescues the risk of accidental poisoning,” the release points out…
